Jacob Wolf married Milly Meredith in Hopkins County Kentucky on March 9, 1809. According to a family web site they were married by the Reverend John Bourland. 160 years later a gggggranddaughter of Jacob Wolf would marry a ggggggreat nephew of the Reverend John Bourland.
In 1825 Jacob Wolf received a land grant of 76 acres. According to family web sites this was given to Jacob for his service as Indian agent and the land grant is signed by President John Quincy Adams.
In the 1830 census Jacob Wolf is listed with ten males and two females in residence. In the 1840 census ten males and six females are in residence.
In the 1850 Census Jacob Wolf and family are living in North Fork, Izard County, Arkansas. His wife is Cynthia. Cynthia is his third wife. Living in the house are Andrew, Tabitha, Malinda, Nancy, John, Joseph, and Mary, and Charles. Also living in the home are Mary Pierson, William Shipp, Hardin Shipp, Louisa Ship, Amanda Shipp, and John Shipp. The last four children are from Cynthia previous marriage to William Shipp.
In the 1860 Census Jacob and Cynthia are still listed. The children include Nancy, John, Joseph, Mary, and Jacob. Charles has died prior to the 1860 census.
Jacob Wolf died January 1, 1863. He final resting place is not known, but is probably in the Wolf Family Cemetery not far from the Wolf House. |
