Most references to Malinda McFelch on posted family histories and census records spell her name "Malinda." The one notable exception is her tombstone, where her name is spelled "Melinda.,"

In the 1850 census record Malinda is living with her husband and children in Big North Fork, Fulton County, Arkansas. Children include Sarah, Jacob, Asa, Mary, William, and Ann. In 1860 the family includes nine children. Sarah (1835) is not included in the list. Jacob is listed as S. J. He is now 22. Asa, Mary, William, and Ann are listed. The list now includes Alice (4), Amanda (1), William S. (9), and L. D. (7). The last two children are orphans of George Washington Wolf's brother and sister-in-law, William M. and Phoebe Kellough Wolf who had both died by 1853. Other children listed above as children of George and Malinda Wolf may also be orphans of William and Phoebe Wolf.

In the early 1870 there was a migration to Texas that included the Wolf family. George Washington Wolf died on the trip in 1873. Malinda and her family made it to Texas.

Malinda died in 1899 and is buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale, Milam County, Texas. Her daughter, Sarah J. (Wolf) Wallis is buried next to her.
