 S. R. Robinson with his Parents

S. R. was born in 1880 in the Tennessee according to the Census. Family information says he was born in Union Springs, Arkansas. He is listed living with parents in the 1900 Census in the Choctaw nation. His place of birth in the 1900 census is given as Tennessee. Of the four census records which list S. R., three give his place of birth as Tennessee and one gives Arkansas. There is a WWI draft registration card, but the card does not give a place of birth.

In the 1910 census S. R. is married. His wife is "Lena" and they have one child, William O. or William Arvel. They are living in Myrick, in Johnston County, Oklahoma. Opal Crompton Robinson was born in 1907 and died in 1910. Family information says that Opal died on June 10. The census was recorded in April. It is not known why Opal's name is not listed on the Census record.

The 1920 Census list four children of "S. R." and "Lennie." They are Orvel, Woodrow, Oreta, and Juanita. They are living Myrick in Johnston County, Oklahoma. Unlike the proceeding census records of 1900 and 1910, S. R. place of birth is listed as Arkansas.

In 1930 the family includes five more children: Doyle, Margarette, Kenneth, Brazella, and Samuel. The family is living in Johnston County, Oklahoma, and S. R. birthplace is listed as Tennessee. Again his wife's name is listed as "Linnie." Doyle is no longer living with his parents.

In the 1920 Census S. R. occupation is "Real Estate."  In the 1930 census his occupation is "Merchant." The 1910 census occupation listing is smudge, but may be merchant. Several relatives owned and/or ran grocery and merchandize stores. His son, Chuck, was known as "horse trader" by his grandchildren.
