In the 1860 Census, William is living in Calhoun County, Alabama with his first wife Rhoda and young sons Mabry and Richard. By the 1870 Census three more children have been added: Elizabeth, Henry, and Walter. Adjacent to the William Robert's listing the Census is his Father, living with his second wife, Elizabeth. (The records are not quite that neat. See David Roberts information.)

 

The 1880 Census list the Roberts family, with wife Minerva, are living in Itawamba, Mississippi. Three children have been added: John, Nary, and Minnie. Mabry Posey, from the Robert's first marriage is now married, and Mabry and his bride Jane are living with the William Roberts family.

 

By 1900 the families have moved to Texas. Both the Mabry Roberts and William Roberts family are listed living in Hill County, Texas. Hill County is also the residence of Gabriel Bourland and his son Lihue Parker, who  married Minnie Roberts. Tisha May Bourland, now married to John Roberts, son of William, is living in the household of her Father-in-law. In the 1910 Census William and Minnie Roberts are listed in the household of their daughter Janie and Son-in-law John P. Carr. The Carr family is living in Abilene, Texas. Three of Gabriel Bourland's children will move to Abilene. Several Roberts families will move to Abilene. William Roberts dies in 1911 and his wife Minerva will die in  1926. They are buried side-by-side in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.

 

Brother and Sister Lihue Parker and Martisa May "Tisha" Bourland married Sister and Brother Minnie and John Roberts. All move to Abilene and are buried in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.
