In 1900 G. W. Lightfoot is living in Hill County with his wife Sarah, who is listed as Sallie L. on the census record. There are no others listed as residing in the home. Sallie dies in 1904 and is buried in Old Lebanon Cemetery. Soon after Sallie's death George Lightfoot marries Martha E. Collier, known as Mattie. In 1908 Anna Lena is born, but within a year she has died and is buried in the Old Lebanon Cemetery.
In 1910 George and Mattie Lightfoot are still living in Hill County, only now blessed with four children - Karl, Charles, Mattie, and Virginia. Based on age, Karl and Charles are children of Sallie and Mattie and Virginia's Mother is Mattie. On the census records Karl is listed as Carl. Her name is Karl Allye, and she goes on to marry John C. Simmons and have at least one child, who name is John Simmons. Marriage and birth records exist.
In 1920 George and Mattie Lightfoot have moved to Pyle's Prairie area of Kaufman County. Their brood now includes Mae, George Rasco, Cecil, and Lee. Before the next census Charley will die and be buried in the Shiloh Cemetery in Kaufman County.
In 1930 George and Mattie are still living in Kaufman County with their sons George R., Cecil V., and Lee P. Also listed in the household is 77-year-old mother-in-law Nancy R. Ensing. The last name is difficult to read. Other possibilities are Erving and Ewing.

George W. Lightfoot dies in 1939. He is buried in the Shiloh Cemetery in Kaufman County, Texas. His marker lies next to his parents, William and Nancy Lightfoot. Mattie will be laid to rest next to her husband almost 20 years later, in 1958.
