Married: Elizabeth Thompson Frazier (Feb 21, 1836 in Lowndes Country, Mississippi) Children: Joseph L. Lightfoot (1837 - ) Amanda Victoria Lightfoot (1840 - ) Thomas Jefferson Lightfoot (1841 - 1900) William Henry Lightfoot (1847 - 1922) Mary E Lightfoot (1851 - 1870)
Julius is the Father of William Henry Lightfoot, ancestor of our family. Julius' brothers were John and Robert. According to a family tradition, John and Julius came to America as stowaways. If this is true then this hidden from census takers who recorded the place of birth as North or South Carolina. Also it suggest that they may have come to join their Father, who is unknown. Robert, the youngest known sibling was born in Georgia around 1810.
The marriage of Julius to Lewhaama Stephens and Elizabeth Frazier are confirmed by marriage records.
Julius C. Lightfoot enlisted in the Stanford Battery on November 6, 1860. He was recommended for a medical discharge on January 22, 1862, in Columbus, Kentucky.
A tantalizing tidbit from history is the mention of Julius Caesar Lightfoot in the diary of Jason Niles. The text says that he was passed a note from "Dr. Julius Caesar Lightfoot." Jason Niles and Julius were residents of Attala County. This entry is dated August 10, 1863. There may be three other references to Julius as J. C. L.

In 1835 Julius C. Lightfoot and William Lightfoot are listed in the in Greene County, Alabama Census. John R. Lightfoot is listed there in 1834.
Julius C. Lightfoot appears in the Mississippi state census in 1837. He is listed in the Federal Census in 1840, 1850, and 1860.

The 1870 Census shows his sons William Henry and Thomas Jefferson are now listed as head of households living in Cherokee County, Texas. They are listed in the census record close together. Living in Williams household are Elizabeth and Sarah. The ages listed for Elizabeth and Sarah are different by a few years from the 1850 and 1860 census.
Mary E. Lightfoot's death is listed on a Federal mortality schedule. She died in Cherokee County, Texas in January of 1870 of "dropsy."
Jason Niles refers to Julius as a doctor. Is this an honorific? Julius' Brother is Robert Lightfoot's occupation is listed as "Physician" in the 1850 census. Julius' occupation is listed as "Miller" and "Farmer" in the 1850 and 1860 census. His discharge papers are give his occupation as Farmer.
