Peoria Cemetery

According to the Online Handbook of Texas, Peoria is one of the older towns of Hill County. Peoria is located about six miles west of the Hillsboro (from the County Courthouse) on Highway 22. The Cemetery is obscured by heavy brush from highway. There is a highway sign pointing to a dirt road that leads to the cemetery.

Northwest Entrance

There are many unmarked graves, and many markers are unreadable. According to several websites, other Bourland are buried here who grave markers were not found on a visit on November 4, 2007.
