Abilene is where the Bourland and Lightfoot families meet, as well as the Sanders (Anson, Texas) and Bourland (Abilene) from the previous generations. Several generations attended Abilene Christian University and Hardin Simmons University. Four generations of Bourland's have attended Abilene Christian University.
